School on the Farm („Schule am Bauernhof“)

With the „School on the Farm“ program, school classes have the opportunity to experience three teaching units of farm life here at Thomayerhof and learn new things about agriculture. The theme of the School on the Farm program is: „Life is a Pony Farm!“

The focus is on introducing students to the tasks and work of a horse farmer, as well as providing interesting and hands-on experiences about horses and our other animals. The program is flexible and can be adapted for students from 1st to 8th grade. Cost per student: €5

FEBS – Kindergarten Program

Through Fantasy, Experience, Movement, and Play children at our farm gain their first experiences with our ponies in a playful and engaging way. During the typical 60-minute FEBS session, a small group of children (3 to a maximum of 6 children, usually aged 3 to 10 years) immerses itself in a world of imaginative play, where the pony becomes a friend, playmate, and companion. With our guidance in equine pedagogy, each child learns to get to know and understand the pony as an animal. This allows them to gain their first experiences with ponies in a fun and gentle way.

GRIPS – Equine Pedagogy

The holistic equine pedagogy approach according to Dell’Mour offers a didactically tailored riding education for children aged 8 and up, as well as for teenagers and adults. The focus is not only on riding skills but also on shared experiences with the horse. Individual needs of both rider and horse are taken into account, promoting physiologically and anatomically healthy riding. This type of riding instruction is ideal for anyone who wants to enjoy horseback riding as a sporting and enriching experience!

HIPS – Therapeutic Riding

Healing, Integrative Horse Setting, or HIPS for short – based on the Healing, Intuitive Horse Setting according to Dell’mour® – is a holistic form of equine therapy offered in German-speaking countries. Particular emphasis is placed on interdisciplinary collaboration. Therapeutic riding supports individuals in their physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development. In this therapy, the horse acts as a motivator and a bridge-builder – where words fail, the horse begins to work its magic!
